THE MONSTER PROJECT

The Monster Project is a collaboration between children in grade school and professional illustrators.

The children invent a monster, draw it, and write about it, encouraging creativity and learning about creating a character and storytelling.

The professional illustrators then receive the monsters and give them a pro-level makeover.

I've had the privilege of working on the project for two years now, and look forward to recreate many more monsters in the future.

2023 - Farty

Farty was created by Idit and Zohar. She lives in Fartyland, likes hiking the Farty Mountains, loves eating wormburgers and every time she farts - a green jelly monster is created!

She also has a little brother whom she loves very much. They have a crown because everyone in Fartyland is born with a crown.

This one was a lot of fun to do. From the very first words of their story, I knew these two girls have a unique sense of humor, and allowed myself to go silly to the max.

2022 - Sademon

Sademon was created by Yoav.

Sademon is a sad demon who lives in hell, where he was reborn.

He loves bathing in lava, and also drinking it while he's taking a bath.

He has a little sister named Nadit.

She, like you no doubt, finds his habits strange.

I loved Yoav's drawing. It felt different in its depiction of hell, and gave me a lot of room for interpretation.
